Printwear & Promotion Show 2020
by Dot RHWell this time last week I was at the Printwear & Promotion LIVE event at the NEC. A week has flown by already - what a January! It was a great day out as usual and can recommend a visit to anyone in the industry. It was a chance to catch up with friends and meet some new ones. My mission this year was to particularly look for new options on organic/sustainable garments and I was impressed to see that that many suppliers offer that option these days. I had a good chat with Tracey at Neutral and am looking forward to teaming up with Dot's own eco-friendly inks to decorate the garments. The catalogue is beautiful and I'm really interested in the 100% re-cycled t-shirt.
One of my highlights was catching the embroidery machine at Midwest Machinery who were displaying an amazing Marilyn design of over a million stitches - incredible!
A great discovery of the day was at Madeira Threads where I found the perfect waterproof film which is is ideal for embroidery onto raincoats and waterproof jackets. The film is heat pressed on the reverse of the embroidery to stop water penetrating through needle holes. This is definitely a winner for us.
